Saturday wrestling

by Andrew Krajewski » Thu Jan 15, 2015 7:18 pm

We had no TV when we were kids.

So every Saturday afternoon we would stand outside an electrical shop for almost an hour
watching the wrestling through the showroom window.

The amazing thing was that we were always part of a crowd
and if it was a 'big' bout, the crowd was so big that people had to walk in the road to get around us

Crazy times!

There was always an old lady with a headscarf and a packet of sandwiches sitting in the front row!

That was my mum!

She was always screaming at the bad guy
and waving her fist :x

Occasionally she hit them with her brolly
when she got really carried away

The camera was always picking her out
as was the commentator, Ken Walton
