I bet that you're suffering from Stuffocation.
Look in your wardrobe, when was the last time that you wore 60% of what's in there.
Now look in your loft and garage, if you dare.
We've all got too much stuff and it's draining us because it's a continual distraction,
it clutters our sub-conscious
and reminds us of wasted money.
Have you ever wondered why your bedroom is almost certainly the least cluttered room in your home?
It's because a lack of clutter
brings peace and hence relaxation and sleep.
Have you noticed how you work so much better
when the only thing on your desk is the task in hand?
It's because a lack of clutter brings focus.
So why do we continue to buy yet more stuff?
Easy,
we live in a consumer society that is continually bombarding us with seductive adverts
and of course we have to keep up with the Jones next door.
Does all this stuff bring us happiness?
Of course not, it just drains us.
Don't become one of the 5 Million hoarders in the UK
that keep stuff just in case.
De-clutter one drawer at a time
If you haven't used it in 6 months, you probably never will.
You'll get a great deal of satisfaction when you no longer have to look at the stuff that you don't use
and you'll find that you've created a much more relaxing environment.
Take your unwanted stuff to a charity shop or car boot sale.
Now comes the hard part
Think very carefully before you buy more stuff.
Do you really need it
and if you do, could you borrow it or buy and share?
Now for the fun part.
Use the money that you've saved to buy experiences
that you'll treasure for the rest of your life
How's Stuffocation affecting you?
Are you Stuffocating?
Perhaps you don't care or maybe you haven't even noticed?
I'd love to hear your views
PS With thanks to James Wallman who wrote 'Stuffocation' and I'd strongly recommend it
