The First Step

by Andrew Krajewski » Tue Feb 10, 2015 9:15 pm

As painful as it is
the first step has got to be to plan ahead.
and there are two sides to this:
1. sort your affairs out to make it easy for your partner/family to take over
2. what will you do if you're left alone?

I would strongly recommend visiting your local Age UK office
and pick up a few booklets which explain what you need to do.

These are the key areas that you need to consider:
1. your finances
2. pensions, yours and your partners
3. what benefits are you entitled to?
4. what am I going to do with my time?
5. emotional support from my friends, GP, counseling services, websites such as 50 Plus

There is a lot of help available
and it is best to get the help/advice before it is needed
so that you now what to do when the inevitable happens

I can only repeat that Age UK is a great place for obtaining information.
