CELL phones are just that

Our heads are being scrambled by our mobile phones!

The Americans got it right when they decided to call mobile phones
CELL phones
because they are imprisoning us.

We all need time to simply be and our minds need space in which to relax.
Without that space we simply become frazzled and tense
and that in turn can lead to all sorts of health issues.

It can't have escaped your notice that wherever we go, people are continually on their mobiles.
They're either talking or texting or on social media or surfing the net or worst of all playing games.

I don't know about you but I'm fed up with having to listen to other people's conversations
if only because they're all so trivial.

What is it that compels people to have to have their mobile on all the time?
Why can't people respond to a phone call later
when the situation and location are more appropriate.

Why does a text sender expect an immediate response?
Why do we feel compelled to read the text immediately?
Rarely is anything that important.

It's all pressure on us to be available 24/7 to everybody.
We're trapped in a communication and availability nightmare.

The young are particularly vulnerable due to peer group pressure.
If their phone isn't continually 'going off' they're seen by their peers as not having many friends.
Indeed when they see everybody else on their mobiles
they feel inadequate
and that's leading to all sorts of issues for that age group.

Just this morning
I read that children as young as 7 are waking up several times during the night to catch up on their messages.
Crazy or what?
Actually I find it very frightening that their CELL phone has already imprisoned them at such an early age.

It's a paradox
that a communication device is actually imprisoning us in CELL
that keeps the people immediately around us out.
How many times have you been in a coffee shop
and seen a group of friends all busy in their individual CELLS
on their mobiles instead of talking to each other?

Don't get me wrong I find my mobile extremely useful when I'm out and about.
But the reality is that most, if not all, of those communications could have waited until I got home.

Perhaps the solution is very simple?
When in company switch your mobile off
and never have a mobile conversation within earshot of others.

Which boils down to only use your mobile when you are alone in your own space.

What you think? Is your mobile a blessing or a CELL? And what about other people's mobiles?
